The output icem-pedagogie-freinet.org/node/8209 curiosity in my class made into a yearly, early in the year. The purpose is to illustrate the key word “curiosity”. Children go out with a block-door and work in pairs.
The reference is to observe whatever is on the ground and in the air, and to ask questions to which you do not know the answer, but which we think it is possible to know. Then you write it all on a large sheet in the classroom, and bar whenever we got an answer. The hike is actually a per period. It is prepared cooperatively. We made the journey with Geoportal and video projector.
It includes workshops based on the course: sketch, land ‘art, listening, identification of trees, plants, watching the river, monuments and buildings, interviews, visits (barn, old factory, equestrian center, …). To maintain curiosity, I propose a list of things to watch. Each time a student sees something on the list, check the sheet of his group.
