In the morning of March 5th, (ie January 27th on lunar calendar), Non Dong pagoda in the historic zone revolutionary Mao Khe mine, Mao Khe Ward (Dong Trieu district, Quang Ninh Province) was officially opened with the participation of the majority monks and Buddhists.
Non Dong Pagoda (Tuong Quang Tu) in the historic zone revolutionary Mao Khe mine is one of 14 tourist destinations of 4 tourist routes in the province of Dong Trieu district which was recognized by Peoplea��s Committee. It was built in 1285 in Tran dynasty, marking a flourishing of Buddhism in Vietnam.
This is where Tue Nhan Tu Giac Quoc Su, Non Dong Holy was an abbot and evangelists of Truc Lam and where Mr. Nguyen Van Cu, former General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam held regularly meetings to build, direct and lead local people and workers to perform proletarianised going on to form the first sub-party of Quang Ninh mine. In recent years, with the merits of the contribution of businesses and local people, Non Dong pagoda has been gradually renovated, building more and more spacious.
The pagoda spring festival was held with solemn ceremony of incense for a prosperous country; the games included chess competitions, folk games, arts festival of 24 streets in the ward… The festival has attracted tourists from everywhere to attend, visit the Buddhist ceremony.
On February 29th,2016, Hai Phong City People’s Committee has announced Decision No. 288 / QD-Committee to recognize 03 tourist routes and 08 tourist destinations in the province. >>Groundbreaking ceremony...
